Are you looking to adopt?

First ask yourself 'do I have...' :

  • The proper facilities to keep an animal? Enough space?
  • Time for the animal's needs inc. cleaning out, grooming?
  • A lifestyle suitable for having an animal dependant on me?
  • To work long hours or go on holiday often?
  • Can I afford the cost of looking after an animal?
  • Can I afford insurance to help cover high vet bills?
  • Have I bothered to find out about what the animal will need?
  • Am I prepared to clean up its mess?
  • Will I look after it when it is ill or when it gets old?
  • Will it get on with any other pets I might have?
  • Am I prepared to be responsible for any damage it may do?
  • Have you read the info on our Rehoming page first?

Cats needing new homes

Elsa
F
2 Years

Available for adoption

ELSA  is a stunning Calico cat of approx 2 years, brought in by RSPCA Inspectors from an owner who asked for our help, as she had taken on too many cats and could no longer cope.
Most of the cats were kittens who were rehomed quite quickly, but Elsa has been with us for a long time now because she is somewhat wary of strangers.

Despite being very scared and hissy at first, with much TLC from her fosterer she has come a long way, and although she is still a bit reticent with people she doesn't know, she can now be stroked and enjoy a fuss - especially if you have a few treats in your hand.......!

ELSA needs an experienced cat home with older children (if any) as they will need to understand her sensitive nature and realise that it's not her fault - she has just had a bad start in life, but we have promised her that things will get better.
She needs someone who will help her continue to gain confidence by being very
patient with her, giving her a bit of space and a lot of love.

Please note we're situated in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. We are happy to consider new homes outside our area, but please be aware that any initial vaccinations, neutering or vet visits will usually be required to take place at our local vet surgery.
If you think you could provide any of our cats with a loving home then please call our Cat Coordinator on 07823 550 886. Please quote 'Branch site'.

Katniss
F
18 months

Available for adoption

This very pretty little girl is Katniss.  She came to us with 5 tiny kittens, and has been a good Mum even though she's not much more than a kitten herself.  Katniss has the sleekest shiny fur, and is healthy and ready for a new home now that her kittens have found theor forever homes.

Katniss is currently with a foster carer, who thinks she's a delightful little girl.  She enjoys receiving lots of love and attention.  She's gentle, relaxed and trusting - she likes to be stroked and fussed, she loves to chase toys and is mad for treats.  She hasn't perhaps known much love in the past, but she's friendly and affectionate and will be a wonderful friend for many years to come.

Caesar & Primrose
M/F
9 Weeks

These adorable 9 week old kittens are Primrose (girl - black & white) and Caesar (boy -black).  They've been in foster care for a month with their lovely gentle Mum and 3 brothers and sisters (all reserved), and they're now ready to go to a new home.

Caesar and Prim are fun-loving, lively and healthy kittens.  They're hard to photograph because they won't stay still if they're awake. They are very well-socialised and confident, and will make lovely additions to a home.

Both are bouncy and excitable, but they also love to fall onto your lap at sleeptime and cuddle for hours. They have now both had their first vaccination and we would like them to be re-homed together.
