Emergency 24 / 7  Cruelty Line

  0300 1234 999

  • Use this number to report cruelty, neglect, or if you find an animal in distress.

  • This line experiences a very high number of calls at all times, every day.

  • You will be asked to select the correct options and wait in a queue.

  • Please be patient. Telephonists will answer you as soon as possible and Inspectorate will always deal with calls in order of urgency and severity.

  • If you have reported a case already and you're concerned the situation is worsening, please call again.

  • Never use Branch numbers for emergencies, we are unable to deal with such calls and doing so will slow down a response if your call is urgent.

  • You can also use My RSPCA to report cruelty and send in questions.

Branch Contacts

  • Kindly note all branch lines except General Enquiries are manned by volunteers.

  • All Branch lines are available to call during office hours. However, as all our staff are exceptionally busy during the day and evening, it's often the case that you will need to leave a message so that we can call you back as soon as possible. Sometimes we may need to deal with more urgent calls first, so please be patient.

  • We cannot always take in unwanted animals for re-homing as we simply do not have the space. Our priority is to take in animals from our Inspectorate that are suffering from cruelty or neglect. There are other animal charities in Barnsley, and we suggest that you contact those to discuss the possibility of rehoming with them first.
